The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) provides a range of licencing, testing and enforcement services with the aim of improving the roadworthiness standards of vehicles. VOSA ensure the compliance of operators and drivers with road traffic legislation and supports the independent Traffic Commissioners.
Freight Transport Association
The Freight Transport Association represents the transport interests of companies moving goods by road, rail, sea and air. FTA members operate over 200,000 goods vehicles - almost half the UK fleet. In addition, they consign over 90 per cent of the freight moved by rail and over 70 per cent of sea and air freight.
The association campaigns for the legal, fiscal and structural framework most conducive to efficient freight movement. Establishing performance standards and facilitating development of best practice, FTA raises the profile of the freight movement industry.
Road Haulage Association
The Road Haulage Association (RHA) provides dedicated campaigning, advice, information and business services specially tailored to the haulage industry. They also use their buying power to negotiate exclusive savings on a range of key haulage services, saving Members time and money.
The RHA continually negotiates on behalf of Members. Not just in the high profile discussions that go on with the government over the national issues, but every day of the week, every week of the year with everyone from local planning committees and regional transport groups to the European Commission.
Institute of Road Transport Engineers
The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), an international individual member educational and scientific association, is one of the largest and fastest-growing multimodal professional transportation organisations in the world. ITE members are traffic engineers, transportation planners and other professionals who are responsible for meeting society's needs for safe and efficient surface transportation through planning, designing, implementing, operating and maintaining surface transportation systems worldwide.
